Former NXT North American Champion and Tag Team Champion Wes Lee is among numerous WWE releases that have occurred today.
There have been several publicly announced departures from NXT today, and some new names that weren’t previously confirmed have now emerged as well.
Those publicly announced earlier are Stevie Turner, Jamar Hampton (Troy Yearwood), Drako Knox and Lance Anoa’i.
Cory Hays has now reported the news of more releases, including Wes Lee, who had been with WWE since late 2020.
Lee’s October 2022 to July 2023 reign as NXT North American Champion is the second longest in the history of the title, and only three days behind the longest, which was Oba Femi.
Lee had also held the NXT Tag Team Championship twice alongside Zachary Wentz (Nash Carter) as MSK in 2021 and 2022.
He had most recently been the leader of High Ryze, where he was joined by Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe.
Hays has also reported the releases of Jin Tala (Leigh Laurel), BJ Ray, Haze Jameson and Summer Sorrell who had all featured on WWE LFG, with Tala having a few matches on Evolve recently as well.
There have also been departures from the WWE ID program in the form of Zayda Steel, Zara Zakher and Kylie Rae.
We wish everyone all the best for their futures.
