Former NXT Tag Team Champion Westin Blake (Wesley Blake) has been guest coaching at the WWE Performance Center.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Blake and his former ‘Forgotten Sons’ faction-mate Steve Maclin (Steve Cutler) are held in high regard at the Performance Center because of their long tenures in WWE’s developmental system.
The report also noted that Blake’s post-WWE work is also highly regarded.
Blake first signed with WWE in June 2013 before making his NXT debut in early 2014. He and Buddy Matthews (Buddy Murphy) went on to win the NXT Tag Team Championship in January 2015 and held the gold for over 200 days.
Blake, Steve Maclin and Jaxson Ryker formed the Forgotten Sons stable in 2017, and were called up to the main roster in 2020. In April 2021, Blake was released from his WWE contract.
The former champion recently made his AEW debut, facing off against Daniel Garcia during the August 21 AEW Dark taping. This bout aired on the August 23 episode.
