Here’s what happened with Sami Zayn after Saturday’s WWE Night of Champions 2023 premium live event went off the air.
In the main event of the show, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defended their WWE Tag Team Championship against Solo Sikoa and WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Zayn and Owens ultimately got the win, after Jimmy Uso turned on Roman Reigns.
The final shot of the night before the event’s highlight video saw Reigns leading Paul Heyman back up the ramp, defeated, while Owens and Zayn celebrated in the ring.
After the WWE cameras stopped rolling, Kevin Owens left the ring so Sami Zayn could soak in the adoration of the fans.
Zayn thanked the crowd, who gave him a big ovation, before finally leaving the ring with his two title belts. You can watch the a video of this interaction shared by Anutosh Bajpai of SEScoops below.
The popular star was previously kept off WWE Saudi Arabia cards due to tensions between Saudi Arabia and Syria, and Zayn is of Syrian descent.
The two nations announced that they’d be resuming diplomatic missions in both countries earlier this month.
Paul Heyman has now broken his silence on the implosion of the Bloodline, which you can read more about right here.
