Tony Khan once again appeared on tonight’s May 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, this time to talk about the new Collision show.
Collision was officially announced earlier in the day as a new Saturday 8-10pm ET weekly show starting June 17.
As the day unfolded, it became apparent that CM Punk had been removed from promotional material.
According to PWInsider, that was because Punk and AEW are once again “at odds”, this time over whether Ace Steel should return to the company.
You can get caught up on that story with Punk’s own comments at this link.
Nonetheless, Tony Khan still appeared on tonight’s Dynamite, and announced the following dates and locations for Collision:
Saturday, June 17 (Premiere) – To be announced next week
Saturday, June 24 – Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, ONT
Thursday, June 29 – FirstOntario Centre, Hamilton, ONT
Saturday, July 8 – Brandt Centre, Regina, SK
Saturday, July 15 – SaddleDome, Calgary, AB
Saturday, July 22 – Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
Obviously the notable thing there is the omission of the premiere location, which was reportedly supposed to be the United Center in Chicago, IL.
Perhaps the CM Punk situation has changed that – we’ll have to wait and see what’s happened by the time next week comes around.
