The Miz and John Morrison are set to challenge Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship at Backlash. It has been a while since a world title has been defended in a handicap match. It has led to people pondering what will happen if the duo manages to win.
This has been on the mind of Miz and Morrison as well as they have discussed what they will do with the title. In an interview with Gamespot, Morrison revealed he and Miz might cut the belt in half. Here is the full quote:
“We’ve talked about it both ways. Co-champions would be nice. We could cut the belt in half and make some sort of a Universal Championship pendant. Sell that as merchandise, and probably get a really nice royalty check for that. Or the other way we were thinking it is whoever gets the fall would win. If I win–if I beat Braun–then Miz would get the first shot at me. Or if Miz pins Braun, then I would get the first shot at him.”
A situation where either Miz or Morrison would become champion and the other being number one contender makes much more sense than co-champions. Of course, they have to beat Strowman to even begin to worry about this. We’ll see if that happens.
