Wheeler Yuta Discusses His initiation Into The Blackpool Combat Club AEW

Wheeler Yuta has addressed his journey to joining the Blackpool Combat Club after matches against Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

The AEW star is the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club, joining William Regal, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.

Speaking with Nick Hausman on The Wrestling Inc. Daily, Wheeler Yuta discussed his initiation into the group and how everything came together.

When asked about his two matches against Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, Yuta admitted:

“Yeah, both of those matches in consecutive weeks were the biggest test of my career, right? Being in there with Bryan Danielson, who for my money is the best wrestler of all time. And the fire that he was trying to get out of me. I could tell that he was hitting me harder, trying to see if I had that fight within me.

“I think I found it, or at least I thought I had found it until the next week when Moxley pushes me even further, and further, and harder and harder. There’s definitely a different atmosphere when you’re in the ring with those guys that you don’t get just on a normal match. There’s something there that elevates you, and you either have to match that, or you’re just going to be left behind. That’s what those matches felt like to me.”

The journey to joining the stable began with William Regal slapping the ROH Pure Champion in the face on the March 16 episode of AEW Dynamite.

When asked if he was confident Regal would shake his hand and welcome him into the BCC following his bloody match with Moxley, Wheeler answered:

“I think it really depended on my performance, I really do think it did. Everything obviously worked out, and I think I did as well as I could in that match. I think it was the best match I’ve had. But that was one where I was like, ‘I really hope, legitimately really hoped, that I could make these guys trust me, and that they’re proud of me, and that they think that I can do this moving forward.’ I think I pulled that off.”

Wheeler Yuta teamed up with Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley to defeat Dante Martin, Brock Anderson and Lee Moriarty on the April 20 episode of Dynamite.
