With word spreading that Vince McMahon was likely going to be backstage at WWE Raw tonight, was he seen in ‘Gorilla’ position?
According to an update from Fightful Select, not only was Vince McMahon backstage at tonight’s WWE Raw taping, he was seated in a very important place.
According to their intel, Vince McMahon was backstage in Gorilla position, just as he had been during the reportedly chaotic Raw after Mania in April.
However by all current accounts, the night was said to be far less hectic than the Raw after Mania, without any notable stories pouring out of Hartford.
However, McMahon did reportedly “change a significant part of the show” a couple of hours before it began.
PWInsider added:
(Vince) “re-worked” the broadcast and changed the order of matches and segments to fit his vision of what he wanted. That resulted in a reconfiguration of the show, but we are told it wasn’t overtly stressful or over the top in what was required.
It sounds at though most of the talent and staff weren’t surprised about his appearance as Hartford is a relatively short drive from where McMahon lives in Connecticut.
That is not to say however he has not been providing input since WrestleMania, rather he has been said to be weighing in remotely in recent weeks.
As previously reported per PWInsider, Vince McMahon was noted as present backstage at tonight’s show in Hartford before the taping began airing.
This was the first show that Vince has physically been present for since the night after WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.
Per the report, not only was McMahon present at the show, but there were reportedly a lot of other WWE office executives present at the show as well.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE Raw, there Sami Zayn commented on the apparent implosion of the Bloodline.
