Insight On Which Night Of WrestleMania 38 Was The Most Popular WWE

Insight from preliminary pay-per-view numbers has revealed which night of WrestleMania 38 was the most popular.

Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Saturday show did a better pay-per-view number than Sunday’s event, despite the Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar Winner Take All title unification bout advertised for Night 2.

Speculating that Stone Cold Steve Austin was the biggest draw of the weekend, Meltzer said:

“It looks like from the preliminary numbers I got that the – at least when it comes to television pay-per-view – that the Sunday WWE show did worse than the Saturday show, which is interesting because the Sunday one was the one with the big main event. So that would indicate that when it came down to it on the day of the show, more people were interested in Austin than anything probably.”

WrestleMania 38 Saturday also featured Cody Rhodes’ return as Seth Rollins’ ‘mystery opponent’, although Google search statistics have also indicated that there was a significant level of interest in Austin’s in-ring return.

Austin faced off against Kevin Owens in an impromptu No Holds Barred match in the main event segment of the show. This was Austin’s first full match in 19 years.

WWE previously announced that WrestleMania 38 was the highest grossing and most attended event in company history in a statement you can read right here.
