It’s now been revealed who came up with this past Wednesday’s ‘Le Dinner Debonair’ segment with Chris Jericho and MJF on AEW Dynamite.
It was reported on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that it was actually MJF who came up with the idea after watching Rocketman, the Elton John bio film.
MJF originally wanted to do an Elton John song as part of their performance, but Jericho chose ‘Me and My Shadow’ by Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr. instead.
AEW did get permission from the publishers to use that song, so there’s no concerns to be had regarding that.
Speaking to the crowd after Dynamite had gone off the air, Jericho said:
“If you only knew what we went through to get that up on-air. Basically, we had that ready to go about 22 minutes before it aired and we filmed last night until about 2am. You never know what’s going to happen on live TV but you buckle up, get the job done, put on a great show, and make sure you guys have fun.”
Both men are set to be involved in a Town Hall meeting on this week’s Dynamite to decide if MJF should join the Inner Circle.
