On last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Daniel Garcia and Bryan Danielson went to war in a two out of three falls match, which Danielson picked up the victory in, narrowly.
After the match, Garcia went to shake Bryan’s hand, before Chris Jericho attacked Bryan from behind, resulting in a conflict between Garcia and Jericho.
Later in the night, Jericho invited Garcia to meet him in the ring to decide whose side he would take, that of the Sports Entertainers in the Jericho Appreciation Society, or the wrestlers in the Blackpool Combat Club.
Jericho and Garcia opened up tonight’s show, when Jericho said he’d let it all go if Garcia apologised to him. Garcia then said that he got to have a match that he dreamed about last week against his hero Bryan Danielson, and that all he cared about was sharing the moment of respect with Bryan, and Jericho ruined that moment.
Jericho then said that there will be plenty more moments like that for Garcia, before demanding he says he is a Sports Entertainer. Bryan came out before Garcia could say anything, telling Bryan that he can be whatever he wants to be, but he respects them wrestling, and he agrees that Garcia is a wrestler.
Garcia then said he can’t choose between his mentor and his hero right now, telling Jericho to leave him alone. Jericho went to prevent Garcia from leaving, before Garcia instinctively shoved Jericho to the floor before walking out.
