Who Drew McIntyre Was Legitimately Angry At In WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Revealed WWE

Another update has emerged on the situation with Drew McIntyre following the 2025 men’s WWE Royal Rumble match.

UPDATE: More details on the exact sequence of events that led to frustration in the Royal Rumble have emerged – click here for the latest.

As we’ve been covering on the site throughout the day, Drew McIntyre was legitimately angry backstage following his elimination from the Rumble match.

McIntyre was eliminated by Damian Priest in what was supposed to kickstart the build to a match between the two at WrestleMania 41.

However, the elimination ended up being somewhat underwhelming and not a big deal, due in part to Priest and McIntyre basically bumping into LA Knight and Logan Paul in the middle of the ring, which distracted from what was meant to be a big moment.

Further reports suggested that McIntyre wasn’t the only one frustrated, with multiple WWE stars said to be annoyed about one specific individual’s performance, because he was allegedly trying to “get himself over” at the expense of other stories in the match.

According to the latest update from PWInsider Elite, sources believe McIntyre to be upset about LA Knight’s “errant movement” interrupting the aforementioned Priest/McIntyre elimination.

You can see a clip of the moment being referenced below.

It wasn’t specified whether Knight is also the person the other talents were frustrated at, but he’s the name that came up specifically regarding McIntyre’s issues.

The report also noted that WWE has been “in contact” with McIntyre, and one source “played down” the situation, saying they understood McIntyre being frustrated at the time, but it’s something that can be tweaked and rectified.

Further reporting has also indicated that McIntyre is frustrated in general about being programmed with Priest for WrestleMania, as McIntyre believes he should be in a bigger feud given the year he had in 2024.

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
