This year’s Stadium Stampede match was different from last year’s match. With a live audience in attendance, the match transitioned from being cinematic to live with the finish taking place in the ring.
Now, Sammy Guevara has revealed that he was the one who came up with the idea. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Guevara talked about Tony Khan and Chris Jericho telling him the idea was really good. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“It was my idea to have the match go from cinematic to live crowd and they went with it. I was surprised. Tony [Khan] and Chris [Jericho] came up to me and were like, ‘that’s a really good idea.’ I figured other guys came up to him and told him that idea but no one else did so they gave me credit for it.”
Sammy Guevara was also the person involved in the finish of the match. Guevara and Shawn Spears brawled to the ring before Guevara got the win with a 630 Senton.
The Inner Circle evened up their record in Stadium Stampede matches at Double or Nothing 2021 after losing to The Elite and Matt Hardy last year.
