Why Former WWE Star Never Won WWE Championship Revealed

Speaking with SK Wrestling, former WWE writer Vince Russo seemingly revealed the real reason why Vader never won the WWE Championship during his time with the company.

While Vince Russo wasn’t the head writer for WWE (then WWF) at the time, he said that the company saw Vader as being past his prime when he was working with Shawn Michaels, which is why they never gave him the WWE Championship:

“Bro, I think again for whatever reason, just because Vader came in when I was not the head writer when they started writing for Vader. I think though, bro, as soon as he came in, that the perception was he had already peaked. That he was on the other side and coming down.”

“Bro, they really booked him so much with Shawn Michaels when Shawn was the Champion because there really was a lack of heels. There weren’t too many big guys to put Shawn against. I really think they viewed Vader as he’s on the other side of his prime.”

During the same “Off The Skript” podcast, Vince Russo also revealed that he never really understood Mick Foley’s Mankind character, which you can hear about above.
