The reason that a major match was pulled from NXT TV has been revealed.
Karrion Kross vs. Santos Escobar was scheduled for last night’s episode of NXT, however this match ultimately didn’t take place.
During the episode, NXT General Manager William Regal played a video he had received from Escobar. The Cruiserweight Champion told fans that he was going home, blaming Kross for threatening him.
Escobar’s video was reportedly to give a storyline reason for the match being postponed. As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there was a medical reason for postponing this non-title match.
Here is the full quote:
“There was a medical reason I heard yesterday, Tuesday, that the match wasn’t gonna take place. So it’s a storyline out of necessity not a planned storyline. The match was supposed to happen on tonight’s show and it could not. I was really surprised that they announced it for next week, but they did.”

To Meltzer’s surprise, this match was rescheduled for next week, so NXT anticipate the medical issues being resolved before next Wednesday.
This match-up is huge, with a competitor undefeated in NXT coming face to face with the athlete who’s held the interim Cruiserweight Championship since May 2020.
On last night’s episode of NXT, Adam Cole attacked Kyle O’Reilly again, resulting in a terrifying injury angle.
