One of the reasons why Big E & Kofi Kingston of New Day drove to the ring on an ATV on this week’s episode of SmackDown has been revealed.
On Friday’s show (February 25), the duo arrived for their match against the ‘Lethal Lovers’ Los Lotharios on a quad. During the bout, Big E threatened to run Humberto over with the 4-wheeler, before Kingston rolled up a distracted Angel for the victory.
Michael Cole mentioned on commentary that Kingston had bought the ATV for Big E as an early birthday gift. Per Fightful Select (subscription required), the ATV was featured in the match in part to promote a new toy WWE and Mattel have released.
The report also stated that the edict to stop calling the team of Big E & Kofi Kingston ‘The New Day’ has been relaxed, although they still aren’t introduced as such.
Petey Williams was reportedly listed as the backstage producer for this match. You can read the list of producers for the show at this link.
