Former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho made her return earlier this year but hasn’t been used since early March.
We now know why that is, as Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that she’s actually travelled back to Japan.
Riho lost in the semi-final of the Women’s World Title #1 contender tournament earlier this year to Thunder Rosa.
Her last match was a win over Maki Itoh in the main event of the debut episode of AEW Dark: Elevation.
She was the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion reigning for 133 days from October 2019 to February 2020.
