Find out why this popular WWE star was recently forced to vacate her championship title (and what her tag team partner will do next!)
On WWE SmackDown tonight (May 19) it was announced that Liv Morgan has sustained an injury that would see her out of action for a considerable amount of time, therefore the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions had vacated the titles.
The injury was reportedly suffered on May 12 when Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defended the championship against Bayley and Dakota Kai on SmackDown.
Morgan was then pulled from a planned title defence on Raw the following Monday, which was set to be her and Rodriguez defending against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.
Then, the following Friday, it was announced the title had been vacated.
More specific details regarding Morgan’s injury were not provided.
Everyone at WrestleTalk wishes Liv Morgan a speedy and full recovery!
A match to crown new champions was announced for May 29.
The match was noted for WWE Raw in two weeks time and for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with champ Raquel Rodriguez’s photo appearing alongside a mystery partner.
Rodriguez and mystery partner will compete in a four-way match against Bayley and IYO SKY, Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green and another formidable tag team for the title.
