Why Triple H And Stephanie McMahon Missed WWE Raw

Even though SummerSlam 2018 is less than a week away, two of WWE’s most important backstage figures were absent from their flagship show this week.

WWE’s resident ‘power couple,’ Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, were conspicuous by their absence backstage at this week’s Raw, as was reported by PWInsider.

Vince McMahon’s daughter and son-in-law are usually on hand to oversee things backstage at WWE’s major shows, if they’re not Pedigree-ing young up-and-comers or belittling babyfaces with no comeuppance live on the show itself.

However, on the most recent episode of the show (August 13, 2018), the former champions – remember when Stephanie won the women’s title? – failed to make an appearance.

But, I hear you ask, why would two of WWE’s most powerful figures miss the go-home show for one of WWE’s second biggest show of the year?

Is there backstage tension between Vince and the McMahon-Helmsleys? Were they off scouting big new talent for NXT? Is Stephanie now going to fix inequality in every other industry in entertainment?

Sadly, it was none of these exciting reasons, because they were just at a rock concert.

Trips and Steph spent their Monday night in Central Park, New York City, attending a show by Maryland-based rock band, O.A.R (short for Of A Revolution) as part of Central Park’s Summerstage festival.

O.A.R have been raising money and awareness for WWE’s Connor’s Cure charity, so Triple H and Stephanie were in attendance to show their support for the group.

Connor’s Cure was set up in support of paediatric cancer research in 2014. The charity was set up in honour of Connor ‘the Crusher’ Michalek, a young WWE fan who sadly passed away from numerous cancers at just eight years old in 2014.

So, I’m afraid there’s no juicy news regarding Triple H and Stephanie McMahon backstage – they were just having a nice time at a rock concert. Sorry to disappoint.
