Why WWE Doesn’t Tell Fans What Will Be On Raw Or SmackDown Every Week

A couple of hours before Monday Night Raw last night, it was reported that the entire script for the show had been scrapped and was in the process of being rewritten.

At the time of the aforementioned report, all that had been announced for the show was an Unsanctioned match between The Big Show, and fellow former WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Many assumed that the reason WWE didn’t tell us more of what would be happening on the show was that they were still in the process of figuring it out. However, that’s not believed to be the case.

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about why WWE doesn’t tell fans everything that’s going to be happening on their main roster shows:

“Their mentality is that main event is the only thing that counts so the main event is the only one they’re gonna tell you and maybe one or two matches.

“That is their mentality — there’s certain things that’s WW’s mentality. You don’t give all the TV matches, that’s just their mentality they’ve been doing it for 25 years and 25 years ago it worked.”

While this may be the case, WWE has announced two championship matches for next week’s Raw, with Drew McIntyre and Asuka both defending their belts. You can read more about that by clicking here and here.
