It was reported last night that the AEW Rampage vs SmackDown ratings were the “hot topic” of conversation backstage at WWE Raw.
However, producer Shane Helms (The Hurricane) took to social media after the show to state that he hadn’t actually heard anyone talking about that at all.
Ringside News, which has had several WWE backstage reports confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer in recent times, has reported the main reason why those backstage may not have been talking about the ratings.
With WWE’s imminent journey to Saudi Arabia, it was apparently the trip that people backstage were talking about, with a tenured source in the company reportedly saying: “The talk backstage amongst talent at Raw is the Saudi trip”.
There was one particular talking point, which was that the trip will apparently involve a two-hour layover in London on the way to Saudi, before then getting back on the same plane to continue the journey.
Other things being discussed among talent was the match order for Crown Jewel, as well as the trip back, which was obviously a sticky situation a couple of years ago.
