Real Reason Will Ospreay Wore Street Clothes On AEW Dynamite AEW

The January 22 episode of AEW Dynamite saw a number of changes due to weather conditions, including to Will Ospreay’s ring attire.

The show was affected by the weather conditions that affected the show emanating from Knoxville, Tennessee.

Tony Khan would address the issues on Twitter, noting that there were some AEW names “battling icy roads and cancelled flights“.

One of the stars who was able to make the show was Will Ospreay, although he wasn’t in his usual high-end ring gear.

As can be seen in the footage below this news story, Ospreay was decked out in a gilet by The North Face, a T-shirt from his AEW merch line, joggers and white trainers.

While the attire may have suited the brawl that he would eventually get into, it turns out Ospreay’s bags had been lost in transit by Delta Airlines according to PW Insider with this being part of the reason for the fashion choice.

The report notes that Ospreay’s bags were lost when he changed flights in Atlanta, despite there being a “multi-hour delay” for his connecting flight.

Ospreay would address the lost luggage on Twitter, describing the issue as a “bloody joke” in a tweet that read:

“19 hours from travelling from the U.K. to Knoxville &@Delta forgot to put my bags on whilst connecting in Atlanta.

“How the bag doesn’t make it on, especially when you delay the flight to Knoxville by 3 hours is a bloody joke, lads.

“Sh**ty customer service in baggage assistance.”

It was a somewhat casual affair during the face-to-face between Ospreay and Omega with The Best Bout Machine also dressed in a Kenny Omega sweatshirt and jeans.

Their face-to-face would be brought to an early end by the appearance of an immaculately-suited Don Callis, with Konosuke Takeshita (dressed in a leather jacket, black vest and white trousers) attacked Omega.

As for Ospreay, it would be Kyle Fletcher (black jacket, black & grey cargo pants and a black vest) who went for his former friend.

The brawl would go out into the venue itself with Brian Cage and Lance Archer also getting a piece of the action.

AEW Grand Slam Australia on February 15, 2025, will see Omega & Ospreay take on Takeshita & Fletcher in a tag team match.

Also announced for the AEW’s Australia debut is Mariah May defending the Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm.
