Top Star Praises Triple H For Letting Karl Anderson Wrestle For NJPW WWE

IWGP US Champion Will Ospreay has praised Triple H for allowing Karl Anderson to compete for NJPW.

Anderson is still the NJPW NEVER Openweight Championship, despite returning to WWE in October, under the new regime.

The star most recently defended his gold against Hikuleo in December, and has a title defence lined up for the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 17 event.

Speaking with Fightful, Ospreay called Triple H a gangster. Teasing a potential WWE run, Ospreay said:

“I’m shocked at it, but in the same sense, now that Triple H is running the ship, it’s got to be said, I think Triple H is a G. I think he’s such a gangster. I’ve always liked him. He’s a cool dude.

“He clearly watches what goes on outside of his bubble, which is amazing, the fact that he’s allowed Karl to have this dual deal is cool.

“It does make me wonder what doors could be open. I always want to know who is the best out of their crop.

“I always like testing myself and it would be very interesting if there was a way of making that door open. You never know.”

Triple H has been running WWE creative as the company’s Chief Content Officer since Vince McMahon announced his retirement in late-July 2022.

At Wrestle Kingdom 17, Anderson will defend his NEVER Openweight Title against Tama Tonga.

Will Ospreay will also be in action against AEW’s Kenny Omega, with the IWGP US Championship on the line.
