Will Ospreay Teases AEW Dynamite Appearance

Will Ospreay has taken to social media to state that he’d be open to visiting AEW, but wants talent to knock on NJPW STRONG’s door.

During an Instagram story, Ospreay responded to a fan asking if we’ll ever see him on AEW Dynamite. Ospreay didn’t rule out a future AEW appearance, but wanted fans to know where his loyalties lie.

Arguing that AEW stars are too scared to come to him, Ospreay said:

“I would love to, you know. I’d love to go there, but I’m a NJPW STRONG guy right now. And I’ve had enough of people knocking on their door, knock on my door! Bunch of p***ies if you ask me, they’re too scared to knock on my door. Do you know why? Because I’d embarrass those boys.”

Ospreay has since taken to Twitter to share a clip from his NJPW Resurgence promo referencing the ‘forbidden door’, noting that he might just walk through and introduce himself:

It was previously reported that new AEW signing Bryan Danielson really wants a match with Ospreay. In the post-All Out media scrum Danielson confirmed that he wants to wrestle in a NJPW ring in the future, so this dream match could be on the cards.

NJPW Resurgence marked Ospreay’s first appearance after returning from a neck injury. During his time on the shelf, NJPW forced Ospreay to relinquish the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Ospreay calls himself the ‘real’ champion, referring to Shingo Takagi, who won the gold in Ospreay’s absence, as an interim titleholder.

The ‘real’ IWGP World Heavyweight Champion was recently announced for the upcoming Chris Jericho Cruise.
