Will Ospreay Reveals Company He ‘Needs’ To Work For AEW

Will Ospreay has addressed his own future, revealing that he wants to make a return to IMPACT when it rebrands as TNA Wrestling.

With Tony Khan recently stating that ‘AEW has agreed to terms with one of the world’s best wrestlers’ and that said wrestler is ‘known + respected by virtually every AEW fan’, Ospreay’s name has been pretty much a constant on Twitter.

The contract signing will take place at AEW Full Gear on November 18 and Ospreay’s name wasn’t the only one being thrown around. It’s unknown if Ospreay would be able to be the new signing as his NJPW contract is due in February, but there’s also the NJPW relationship which may be a factor.

On the November 16, 2023 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Ospreay faced Josh Alexander and the full match can be seen below this news story.

Ospreay would address the IMPACT Wrestling fans after the match, which would be shared on Twitter (see below), saying:

“I’m very thankful to everybody for allowing me to come back here because, once upon a time, I honestly thought IMPACT was done. There was no saving IMPACT Wrestling.

“But then new ownership came along, and then the talent backstage… the talent!

“It should be spoken loud and clear that the staff back there and all the roster are the reason why this place is living and thriving.

“I didn’t want to come to IMPACT Wrestling. I wanted to come to TNA.

“So, before I round this up, before February strikes, you better make sure that as much as I love Impact, I need to step foot in a TNA ring.”

Having praised Alexander during the promo, Alexander would share his praise of Will Ospreay, too, before setting out a challenge to face Ospreay in 2024.

In October 2023, it was announced that IMPACT Wrestling would be returning to the TNA name.

Will Ospreay continues to be under NJPW contract until February 2024 as far as we know, with WWE and AEW both interested.
