Top NJPW Star Says The ‘War Ain’t Over’ With Kenny Omega AEW

NJPW’s Will Ospreay had a busy first night back in the ring following his recent shoulder injury, pulling double-duty to win the vacant 1PW World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday, April 22.

While Ospreay can add yet another accolade to his storied career, the 29-year-old may still be hurting from the loss of his last title, the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

Ospreay would of course lose his title to AEW’s Kenny Omega at WrestleKingdom 17, however, for Ospreay, a future rematch with Omega is certainly in his sights.

Following a post of himself with his new 1PW Championship on Twitter, Omega’s on-screen manager Don Callis would reply with an image of Omega getting his hand raised following his victory at WrestleKingdom 17.

This would then lead Ospreay to reply with:

“War ain’t over d*ckhead”

An Ospreay vs Omega rematch has been rumored to be a possibility for AEW and NJPW’s second annual Forbidden Door event on June 25.

The original match received critical acclaim, earning an insane six and a quarter stars from the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.

Forbidden Door is not the only AEW event that Ospreay may be appearing on this year with the Englishman making clear his  desire to compete at AEW: All In at Wembley Arena on August 27.

You can find Ospreay’s latest comments on the landmark event here.
