A major change appears to be coming to NXT, and it could be the brand’s General Manager William Regal leaving his on-screen role.
Regal has (in storyline) been growing more and more frustrated with the chaotic environment in NXT as of late, and that boiled over at TakeOver last night.#
Before the show went off the air, Regal said: “I think it’s time for a change”.
WWE.com has now followed up and hinted at what this change could be, writing:
What sort of change could he have in mind? Could the seven-year General Manager actually be thinking of stepping down? Is he considering instituting harsh rules in an effort to quell the violence? Could he be looking to enlist help from someone to get NXT back under control?
William Regal has been NXT GM since July 2014, and his playing and presentation of the role has been praised for not falling into the trap of many authority figure tropes throughout the years.
We will of course be providing live coverage of NXT this coming Tuesday, so stay tuned to find out what happens.
