William Regal Open To Working With AEW Stars Danhausen & Orange Cassidy AEW

William Regal has shared his thoughts on doing comedy, or working with comedy performers in AEW.

Regal is currently aligned with Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta as the Blackpool Combat Club.

Speaking on his Gentleman Villain podcast, Regal noted that he “wouldn’t have any problem” working with the likes of Danhausen and Orange Cassidy in AEW.

Explaining that he has been surrounded by comedy for most of his wrestling career, Regal said:

“If you look at my career, a lot of it was being put on with comedy wrestlers for entertaining situations, so I have no problem with it and if it’s done well and the fans love it, everything has a place in wrestling. There’s nothing worse than bad comedy wrestling though.”

“You’ve got to be comfortable with yourself, for one thing, their stuff won’t work if you don’t put it over, that’s the problem with being a comedy wrestler, If you get on with somebody who thinks that they’re too tough to sell their stuff it’s not going to work, you’ve got to have a comfortable person who is happy to put your stuff over, and I was always happy to do that with anybody, as long as they could carry their bit of it.”

The Blackpool Combat Club appears to be preparing for to have a big presence at Forbidden Door, with Jon Moxley set to face Hiroshi Tanahashi for the AEW Interim World Championship at the June 26 event. Bryan Danielson has also been called out by Zack Sabre Jr, who teased a dream match following NJPW Dominion.
