Women’s Championship Match Booked For Saudi Arabia

Women’s Championship Match Booked For Saudi Arabia

On last night’s SmackDown, Goldberg returned to TV for the first time in 2020 to challenge The Fiend Bray Wyatt to a Universal Championship. A part of a Firefly Fun House segment, Wyatt accepted the challenge.

The title match was later confirmed for WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia later this month.

After being forced to eat dog feed on last week’s show, King Corbin will aim to get some retribution over Roman Reigns when the duo go one-on-one in a Steel Cage match at Super ShowDown.

Hopefully this will spell the end of the Corbin and Reigns feud that has lasted nearly five months, allowing Reigns to move on to his rumoured WrestleMania feud with the aforementioned Bray Wyatt.

The third and final match that has been booked for the 02/27 show will see Bayley defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against former champion Carmella.

Carmella earned the match after defeating Naomi, Dana Brooke and Alexa Bliss in a fatal-four way match that main evented thw show.

Should no other women’s match be added to the show, this will only be the second time that women have participated in a wrestling match in Saudi Arabia. The first came in October 2019 when Natalya went one-on-one with Lacey Evans.

However, this match will still go down in history as the first-ever women’s championship match in the country. There is no word on if Becky Lynch will also defend her title on the show, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on that.
