Of all the promises that Vince McMahon made during his pre-Christmas speech for WWE’s new era, seemingly the only one WWE has so far made any effort with is the Women’s tag titles.
The designs of the belts were announced last week on a bizarre “Moment of Bliss” segment and it’s been announced that the belts will first be up for grabs at Elimination Chamber in a chamber match.
Although no-one has been confirmed for the match, we do know that it will be three teams from Raw, and three from SmackDown Live. Here’s who there is to choose from:
- Tamina and Nia Jax
- Bayley and Sasha Banks
- Alicia Fox and Mickie James
- The IIconics
- Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville
- Naomi and whoever her best friend is at the time
- Lana and someone else
Yeah, as you can see there aren’t a lot of teams to choose from, so unless Dana Brooke teams up with Lacey Evans for whatever reason, it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out who is going to be in the match.
However, reports currently suggest that a team from Raw will pick up the titles, and with Bayley and Sasha being the main focus of the women’s tag division publicity, it would make sense for it to be them.
Perhaps they’ll call up Io Shirai and Kairi Sane to beat everyone up. A man can dream.
