Many people assumed that this match would main event, but it was reported that even recently Vince McMahon wasn’t 100% sure about which match he wanted to close the show. However, he has clearly made his mind up, and for the first time ever women will be closing the biggest show of the year.
Although her crowd reactions have slightly decreased since the Royal Rumble, it is no doubt that Becky is one of the single most over performers in the whole of wrestling. It was even reported last week that she was the top merchandise seller in the whole of WWE. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise that WWE have opted to have their female athletes close the show.
This is a huge moment for all involved, Becky, Charlotte and Ronda will forever be able to say that they were part of one of the biggest milestones for women’s wrestling of all time. They will be alongside some of the best the industry has ever seen in being able to say that they have closed the biggest show of the year.
