According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the expected main event of WrestleMania, Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, may not actually be the last match on the card.
This is partly due to Lesnar’s contract coming to an end soon and the uncertainty around whether or not he will re-sign with the WWE. WWE are assuming that Brock will be leaving after WrestleMania for a return to the UFC and so are not overly keen on having someone who is leaving the company main eventing the show.
The Observer also notes that sources close to the situation believe that Brock will sign a new contract with WWE but they are not going to be taking any chances, so for now they are going forward with the assumption that Brock will be leaving. WWE are going to be “downplaying” Brock on his way out to make it look less of a big deal if he were to leave.
So with Reigns vs Brock potentially not going on last in New Orleans in a few weeks time, what could go on in its place? Triple H and Stephanie McMahon vs Kurt Angle and a debuting Ronda Rousey has been rumored to replace the Universal Championship match as the main event of WrestleMania 34. The other option is the massive showdown between John Cena and The Undertaker.
