WrestleMania Statistics Show Significant Decrease In Fan Interest In Ronda Rousey WWE

WWE’s biggest weekend of the year is officially in the books, and the fan reception to the two nights was largely positive, with several big moments.

One of the most heavily advertised matches for the show saw Charlotte Flair defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the fan interest from the show on the Wrestling Observer Radio, where he spoke about Cody Rhodes garnering the most interest, with Stone Cold in at number two.

Meltzer also notes that interest in the SmackDown Women’s Championship match, and Ronda Rousey specifically, was low for the show.

He said:

“As far as after the show, complete interest levels and everything like that on Google for ‘Mania – Cody was number one, Austin was number two, Roman was number four, and Ronda Rousey was not high, which is an interesting one because she’d been so high going in. So the bloom is off the Ronda Rousey rose by the way.”

Rousey lost the match to Flair at WrestleMania, but is still advertised for the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash show next month.
