Wrestlers ‘Didn’t Feel Safe’ Pushing Back Creative Following Bray Wyatt Release WWE

A new report says that wrestlers “didn’t feel safe” pushing back against creative in WWE following Bray Wyatt’s release.

Bray Wyatt was released from WWE in July 2021, which shocked many in the company with the former WWE Champion being one of the top stars.

Following his release, reports circulated that Wyatt was “difficult to work with” after several disagreements about the creative direction of his character.

Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided an update on how other wrestlers felt following Wyatt’s departure, noting that another talent recalled that they specifically didn’t push back on their creative, because if Wyatt could get fired, they certainly didn’t feel safe.

When the firing was cited as “budget cuts” that was another hit to morale for several Fightful had spoken to at the time.

One talent said “if he makes the company money hand over fist and they use budget cuts as an excuse, what am I?” That talent has since been let go by the company.

As previously noted, the report also noted that no one had any clue where the Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton feud was going.
