Legendary wrestling referee Earl Hebner has revealed that his daughter, Katie Hebner, will soon referee some matches for AEW.
Speaking on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, Earl noted that Katie will officiate some matches at an upcoming TV taping in Florida in a few weeks.
While Katie was originally training for an in-ring career, the second-generation star began to focus on refereeing after suffering a back injury.
Earl noted that he always encouraged Katie to become an official, noting:
“I wanted her to be a referee to begin with, but, everybody wants to do their own thing. It’s fine with me, whatever she wants (to do), what makes her happy. So, if it works out, we’ll have another Hebner in the business.”
Katie recently took to Facebook to share a photo of herself outside
Kaitie recently shared a photo to Facebook of herself outside Soundstage 19 in Universal Studios, where episodes of ROH have recently been taped.
Noting that she’s chasing the same dream as her father, she captioned the photo:
full circle moment: I spent many summers and holiday breaks down here with my dad at Studio 19 & 21 . Years later, I’m down here, on my own, in the same stage, chasing the same dream.
Earl Hebner served as a WWE official from 1988 to 2005. He notably refereed matches for AEW between 2019 and 2021.
Tony Khan has touted the May 10 edition of Dynamite as a ‘PPV on TBS’.
The card for the upcoming show is as follows:
