The reason a match type has returned in the WWE 2K26 video game has been revealed by a member of the development team.

With a release date of March 13, details of the features and stars to be seen in WWE 2K26 have emerged, with a return of a popular match type now confirmed.

Bryan Williams, Visual Concepts’ WWE 2K Gameplay Producer, has confirmed that the I Quit match will be making a return.

In a recent gameplay video with IGN, the producer revealed the reasons the match type was being brought back, saying:

“So, our community has been vocal in their wanting of the return of this match type for several years now.

“It’s one of those things where it’s like, we hear the fans, sometimes we’re not able to address and get to those things immediately, but as a match type, as we’ve added new match types over the last couple of games, this has always been one at the top of the list.

“We just felt that for 2K26, if we were going to add any new match types – and this is just one amongst many – the I Quit match was just agreed upon from the very start.

“Having worked on the original I Quit match that used to be in the franchise, I was obviously keen to get this one back into the franchise, also.”
