The WWE 2K Gameplay Producer has addressed the introduction to a new feature to all one-on-one matches in WWE 2K26.
With the latest WWE console game hitting shelves next month, more details are emerging on gameplay for the upcoming release.
IGN have shared a gameplay video with WWE 2K Gameplay Producer Bryan Williams, during which they play through an “I Quit” match.
Williams addressed the new Start of Match Actions during the video, a new system which allows players to either play to the crowd, offer a handshake, engage in chain wrestling, trade blows or launch a surprise attack.
Discussing this new feature, Bryan Williams said:
“So one-on-one matches now have the ability to, basically it allows players to kind of create the story in their minds about what they want the match to entail.
“If you’re in a match with two allies, let’s say Jey and Jimmy Uso, you can choose to start the match as brothers would with a handshake and say, ‘Hey, no hard feelings when I beat you.’
“Otherwise, when you’ve got two guys who really don’t like each other, you can just start with the mad rush.
“That’s something that’s in all the one-on-one matches, it just adds a nice bit of presentation, storytelling to the combat.”
