WWE Star ‘Absolutely’ Interested In Potential Rey Mysterio US Title Match

WWE Star ‘Absolutely’ Interested In Potential Rey Mysterio US Title Match WWE

Santos Escobar has commented on the possibility of a match between himself and Rey Mysterio following Mysterio’s US Title win.

While Escobar was initially set to challenge for the US Championship on the August 11 edition of Dynamite, Rey Mysterio took Escobar’s place in the bout after he was attacked by then-champion Austin Theory.

Mysterio ultimately picked up the victory to win the US Title for the third time in his WWE career.

In an interview on Babyfaces Radio, Escobar stated that he’s currently not cleared to compete, noting:

“I’m not cleared to compete right now as it is, because of Austin Theory, but trust me, my mind, my heart are strong.

“I’m a strong willed person. I will come back. When I come back, I will come back full steam.”

Escobar noted that he’d ‘absolutely’ step into the ring against Mysterio for a title match, noting:

“Absolutely, yes. We already went at it just to get an opportunity at this title. Now that he holds the title, the one thing I know for sure is that he will give me an opportunity when the time comes.

“I’m not ready to compete right now because of Austin Theory, and before I go for the title, I would like to repay Austin in kind.”
