
During the WrestleMania 41 Countdown show, it was officially annouced that WWE has acquired Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA.
Triple H was present for the announcement, along with AAA personnel including Dorian Pena, Marisela Pena and Alberto Fasja Cohen.
Also on hand were WWE stars Stephanie Vaquer, Andrade, Angel, Berto, Santos Escobar, Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, Penta, Rey Fenix and Rey Mysterio, in addition to AAA’s El Hijo Del Vikingo.
Also confirmed is the Worlds Collide event that will see WWE, NXT and AAA collaborate for a joint show at the Kia Forum in LA on June 7.
On the announcement, Triple H tweeted:
A partnership that will benefit the entire world of sports-entertainment. @luchalibreaaa has been a cultural mainstay in Mexico and the home to many @WWE Superstars. This partnership will guarantee that AAA remains the premier destination for wrestling in Mexico.
