Big Cass vs. Samoa Joe
Just one spot remains in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and it will be up for grabs next week on SmackDown Live when the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’, Samoa Joe squares off against Big Cass.
Samoa Joe lost out to Roman Reigns at Backlash on May 6 and hasn’t had a match on SmackDown since. He made the transition to the ‘Land of Opportunity’ from Raw in the Superstar Shake-up, but his cross-brand feud with Reigns has left him without a program for the time being.
Big Cass, on the other hand, also made his blue brand debut during the Superstar Shake-up, and immediately targeted Daniel Bryan, because he’s small, and Cass is big.
After weeks of insults and torment, and Cass eliminating Bryan for the 50-man Rumble match at Greatest Royal Rumble, the two went one-on-one at Backlash.
Bryan came out the victor, but Cass got the last laugh, attacking the ‘”Yes!” Man’ after tapping out to the “Yes!” Lock.
On last night’s edition of SmackDown Live, however, Bryan repaid the favor and targeted Cass’ previously injured knee in a vicious attack at ringside in the opening segment of the show.
Bryan himself lost out in his qualifying match last week, against the ‘Bulgarian Brute’, Rusev.
Here is the current field for the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match:
- Braun Strowman
- Finn Bálor
- The Miz
- Rusev
- Bobby Roode
- Kevin Owens
- Big E or Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods (New Day choose which member)
- Big Cass or Samoa Joe (qualifying match next week on SmackDown Live)
