WWE Name Again References AEW Stars Amid Return Speculation

Beth Phoenix has commented on her and Edge’s use of FTR’s signature move at the WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event.

On the February 18 show, Phoenix and Edge faced off against Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day in tag action.

The duo interestingly used a familiar move to finish the bout, which commentary pointed out was a Shatter Machine.

The Shatter Machine is the finishing move of FTR, currently called the ‘Big Rig’ when used in AEW and NJPW.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler both took to Twitter to react to the finish of the match, with Harwood simply writing:

And Wheeler replying:

What a great name

Beth Phoenix has now shared an action shot of her and Edge performing the maneuver to Twitter.

Giving a nod to FTR’s ‘top guys, out’ catchphrase, Phoenix captioned the photo:

Harwood and Wheeler are close with the Grit Couple, with FTR previously helping Edge to train for his wrestling return.

Edge even subtly name-dropped the Top Guys on SmackDown during his feud with Seth Rollins in 2021.

There has been a lot of speculation about FTR’s future, with the duo currently taking time off ahead of their AEW contracts expiring in April.
