The travel bans imposed as a result of the Coronavirus have caused a lot of plans in both WWE and AEW to change over recent months. In terms of WWE, Robert Roode and The Singh Brothers have been unable to attend tapings due to the travel ban with Canada, while NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin and Pete Dunne have been stuck in the UK.
For AEW, the absences have been closer to the top of the card. Big stars Pentagon Jr and PAC have been stuck in Mexico and England respectively, meaning they have missed the last few months worth of TV tapings. Jack Evans and Angelico have also been unable to get into the US for TV tapings due to the travel bans.
However, both companies are reportedly expecting their top stars to return, as the travel ban has been lifted for athletes entering the US, and that includes professional wrestlers. Here is the quote, as reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“Athletes are now allowed to come. The North was able to come in for Impact. Pentagon, Pac, and those guys should be able to come in for AEW. Jack Evans, Angelico — some of these guys who weren’t allowed in because of the borders being shut. You know there’s basically because this is due to baseball and hockey and these other sports opening up.”
