A former WWE and WWE star has revealed that they have a world championship goal and a deadline to make it a reality.
Lio Rush has had runs in both AEW and WWE and recently revealed that he had conversations with Tony Khan and is open to making a return to WWE.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the 28-year-old revealed his goal by the time he reaches the age of 30, saying:
“I really want to be a world champion. I feel like I’m more than capable
“I think it’s possible anywhere. I think there’s probably some more steps that need to happen in order to get to that in certain places.
“It’s not going to be the same process in like a MLW than like a WWE or a New Japan or AEW. It’s just different systems, different fan bases, different ways of going about things.
“But I feel like I have the work ethic to be a world champion. I feel like I have the story to be a world champion.
“I feel like a lot of people can get behind me. I feel like me being as open as I am sometimes works out in my favor.
“And I don’t like using the word influencer or anything like that, but I feel like I have influenced a lot of people, whether they’re fans or current wrestlers.
“This new generation of wrestlers, I feel like I’ve had multiple times where wrestlers would come up to me and say like, ‘Man, I was 15 watching you when you were in Ring of Honor,’ and I’m like, man, it kind of like blows my mind. Yeah, I definitely feel like it’s possible.”
Rush also discussed his learning experience whilst working with Bobby Lashley in WWE.
He has also recently discussed his departure from AEW in February 2022.
Rush competed at NJPW WrestleKingdom in January 2023 and would suffer an injury during a “nasty spill” on the ramp.
