Former WWE & AEW Star Celebrates Hall Of Fame Induction

A former WWE and AEW star has celebrated their recent induction into the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.

The Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame Ceremony took place on Saturday in Brooksville, Florida and saw 25-year veteran Mercedes Martinez named as an inductee.

After making her name in promotions such as Shimmer and Women Superstars Uncensored, Martinez signed with WWE in early 2020 and would remain a member of the roster until her release in August 2021.

She would subsequently head to Impact Wrestling before signing with AEW in December 2021, with her contract expiring in January of this year.

In a recent post on Twitter, Martinez celebrated her induction into the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame, writing:

“WOMEN’S WRESTLING HALL OF FAME.

“Grateful beyond words.

“Thank you @wwhof2022, @realLeilaniKai for your support always, & Penelope Paradise for inducting me.

“This isn’t just for me.

“It’s for the past, the present, and the future. 🖤”

With a career dating back to the early 2000s, Martinez was inducted into the Class of 2025 Pro Wrestler Category alongside Chyna, Wendi Richter, Saraya Knight (the mother of WWE’s Paige (also known as Saraya in AEW), Angelina Love, Debra Marshall, Desiree Petersen, Ramona Isabella, Jeanne Basone, and Misty Blue Simmes.
