AEW Star Controversy Referenced During NXT WWE

After some recent controversy regarding a AEW star, a reference was dropped on tonight’s edition (November 15) of WWE NXT.

Back in October, after WWE’s social media team posted a clip of Josh Briggs doing a move with a caption about how he was “busting out moves that Booker T had never even seen,” AEW star JD Drake took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

With a tone he later clarified was affable, Drake wrote:

“At least let them know where you got it from Josh Briggs. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

Now tonight on NXT during a Briggs and Jensen match featuring more impressive offense from the duo, Booker T addressed the scandal.

Saying of the situation, Booker T mentioned that he saw something online about someone saying Josh Briggs had taken a move.

To which Booker T said he had one thing to say:

“If you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.”

Elsewhere on tonight’s edition of NXT, a tag team reunited for the first time in over two years.

Also, one star explained their actions from last week and leave no doubt whether or not they’ve turned heel.
