Former WWE Star Says AEW Reignited Their Passion WWE/AEW

Mercedes Mone has reflected on her first year in AEW, noting that it has reignited her fire and passion for pro-wrestling.

Mone is the current TBS Champion, having debuted on the March 13, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite: Big Business.

Sharing her thoughts in the recent issue of the Mone Mag, the TBS Champion praised Tony Khan and the AEW roster, saying that the company has reignited her love for wrestling, stating:

“Time truly does fly, and I can confidently say this has been one of the most transformative years of my career.

“AEW has reignited my fire, passion, and deep-seated love for this sport. It has been a beacon of hope for me, and I am endlessly grateful to AEW and Tony Khan for this opportunity!

“I am privileged to share the ring with the absolute best women in the world—strong, fierce competitors who push me to elevate my game day in and day out. And let’s not forget the men; their relentless drive inspires me to strive for greatness beyond compare.”

Promising to leave her mark on the professional wrestling world, Mercedes Mone would also thank the fans for their ongoing support.

The former Sasha Banks officially left WWE in December 2022 and would go on to a successful run in New Japan Pro-Wrestling where she would become IWGP Women’s Champion.

Currently, along with the TBS Championship, Mone is also the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion and Revolution Pro Wrestling Undisputed British Women’s Champion.

It was recently reported that Mone will face ROH Women’s Champion Athena at AEW Dynasty on April 6.
