A recently released WWE star has stated that they’d be open to returning to AEW, amid speculation about their next move.
Cora Jade was one of several WWE names let go by the company during the early-May round of talent cuts.
With the former NXT star preparing to return to the ring, Jade – who is returning to the ring name Elayna Black – has responded to rumors about a potential AEW move.
Speaking on the Ariel Helwani show, Black noted that she’d be open to joining AEW.
Recalling her previous stint with the company, she said:
“I would definitely be open to AEW. I loved my time there. I have a lot of friends there.
“I watch all the shows. I love the fact that they have as much creative freedom as they do.
“It’s definitely be something… My 30 days (non-compete clause ended) yesterday, so (she hasn’t talked to them yet), but you never know.”
Black wrestled two matches for the AEW Dark brand in October 2020, first losing to Red Velvet on the episode which aired on October 13, 2022, before teaming with Leyla Hirsch in a losing effort against Brandi Rhodes and Red Velvet on the November 3-airing episode.
