Former WWE Star Addresses AEW Rumors Ahead Of Collision Debut Episode AEW

Matt Cardona has commented on his current status, addressing rumors about him potentially joining AEW.

While Cardona wrestled for AEW several times in 2020, he was never officially signed by the promotion.

With Cardona often touting his free agent status, it is heavily speculated that the Indy God will ultimately sign with either AEW or his former home WWE.

Speaking with PWMania, Cardona addressed rumors about a leaked run-sheet for AEW Collision that featured his name.

Shooting down speculation about a run on AEW Collision, Cardona said:

“I mean, come on. That was so fake. Listen, I’m flattered, I think I would be great on that show. I think AEW, what they’ve been doing is fantastic.

“I mean, adding another show, prime time, incredible. It shows their growth, they’re on their way to maybe sell out Wembley Stadium, which is incredible.

“AEW is doing some great things, but no, that is not a true lineup. Unless Tony Khan calls me tomorrow. I mean, I’m a free agent for a reason, baby. I’m always ready.”

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding CM Punk’s status for Collision in recent weeks, following reports that he’d be making his AEW return on the June 17 debut episode.
