With Stephanie Vaquer using a corkscrew moonsault as a signature maneuver, the WWE star has revealed AJ Styles reaction to the move, following comparisons to his Spiral Tap.

Having retired at this year’s Royal Rumble with a loss to GUNTHER, AJ Styles is still under contract with WWE, serving in something of a mentorship capacity.

Having witnessed new generations of stars join WWE since signing in 2016, one such name to have debuted in 2024 was Stephanie Vaquer.

Vaquer recently appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, sharing a conversation she had with Styles following the Phenomenal One seeing her perform her corkscrew moonsault, which is often compared to Styles’ corkscrew senton “Spiral Tap” signature move.

Revealing that Styles told her that her moonsault looked better, Vaquer recalled:

“One time he said to me, ‘Oh, it’s like my move.’ I’m like, ‘Oops.’

“He says, ‘No, you look better.’ I said, ‘No, I can’t believe you said that!’ I love him.”

The WWE Women’s World Champion would also reveal that she planned to stop using the Devil’s Kiss when she signed with the company, noting that Booker T made her fall back in love with the move.

The Remarkable Rise Of Stephanie Vaquer

Signed in July 2024, Stephanie Vaquer would make her debut in July of that year at an untelevised WWE Live event in Mexico City, not seeing her in-ring NXT debut until three months later.

A former CMLL Women’s World Champion, Vaquer’s time in the Mexico-based promotion would see her be the inaugural holder of two titles: the CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Championship and the Occidente Women’s Tag Team Championship, both with Zeuxis. She also previously held the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, losing that title to Mercedes Mone at AEW Forbidden Door in June 2024.

A former NXT Women’s and Women’s North American Champion, Vaquer set the record as the only member of the roster to hold both titles.

Always main roster-bound, Vaquer would see her call-up in May of last year, having previously appeared at the Raw After WrestleMania 41 in April, firmly securing her place in high-profile feuds.

Her main roster run has so far seen her be the current WWE Women’s World Champion, a title she defends against Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42 on April 18 in Las Vegas, marking the first time the Chilean star will compete at the top Premium Live Event.

Vaquer is currently in a relationship with NXT North American Champion Myles Borne, with the pair having been dating since last year.
