‘Everything Just Clicked’ Claims Top NXT Champions WWE

Two NXT champions have claimed that “everything’s just really clicked” since joining forces on WWE television.

The team of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn secured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship at Stand & Deliver on April 1 2023, defeating Fallon Henley and Kiana James.

The pair have previously feuded but joined forces on the January 31 episode of WWE NXT.

Speaking about their alliance to WrestleZone, Fyre and Dawn addressed what makes them an ideal team, with Fyre saying:

“We’ve been through a lot together. Whether it was in ‘NXT UK’ or over here, we’ve been through it [together].

“Since being put together, I feel like everything’s just really clicked. Everything’s working.

“We’re having a laugh, we’re having fun while doing this, so I would really like to just keep going and see how far we can go with this.”

Isla Dawn added:

“I feel like because we have came through a lot of wrestling together, we’ve known each other for years, we’ve done ‘NXT UK’ together.

“We’re both two foreigners in America together. We have very similar paths and we’ve got very similar minds and similar upbringings. So I just feel like everything’s very aligned.”

The pair recently promised to usher in a new era for the WWE NXT Women’s Division, footage of this moment can be seen below this news story.

Fyre, under her previous name of Kay Lee Ray, held the NXT UK Women’s Championship and won the 2022 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship is the first time that Dawn has held WWE gold since joining the company.
