WWE
Aleister Black has addressed his current position in the company, having made his return in April of last year.
A former NXT Champion, Aleister Black was released from his WWE contract in June 2021 and would head to AEW until his contract expired early last year.
Back in WWE, Black would return as a SmackDown star and reflected on his standing in the company in a recent interview with Forbes.
With it being noted that some fans remember him more from his time in NXT prior to 2019 than either of his main roster runs, Black would say:
“It’s never not been the direction that I wanted to go – it’s always aiming for the highest and trying to grab the highest apple on the tree, because that’s what you want
“Any wrestler in any capacity, in any standard shoot, if you’re not in it for the highest part, then I feel like you’re going to be content with lesser.
“For certain people that might be good. For myself, I can’t. I always have to push towards the highest thing that I can get in with or without the help.”
Following their recent encounter on WWE SmackDown, Black would also address a potential feud with Randy Orton.
